Hangi Buffet Lunch

Enjoy lunch at Te Puia with amazing kai against a backdrop of geysers and stunning park views as you enjoy a range of Kiwi flavours at Pātaka Kai Restaurant. Our Restaurant is open for our Hāngī Lunch Buffet (11.30pm until 2.30 pm) daily. Last seating is at 1.30pm.

The menus are are smartly sophisticated – infusing Māori flavours, with an array of global cuisines and cooking styles. From our popular corn & watercress soup, served alongside fresh homemade breads to our range of kai moana (seafood) with a crisp salad buffet, your meal will begin with a light entrée, to prepare you for the main course to follow.

Your main choices begin with our mustard glazed ham on the bone, minted roasted lamb and our not to be missed watercress and potato bake! Have you tried NZ Boil up? Each day our Hāngī Buffet Lunch chefs will prepare a freshly made pork rib boil up with watercress and cabbage, fried noodles and delicious crispy chicken drumsticks.

The highlight of our Hāngi Lunch Buffet is.. you guessed it.. the Hāngī Chicken and Hāngī vegetables served with rewana bread stuffing and finished off with our burnt brown sugar steamed pudding. Our steamed puddings are made onsite and cooked in a natural steam vent down in the geothermal valley. This unique cooking style offers a flavour that can not be replicated anywhere else. Serve your steamed pudding with hot vanila bean custard and cream to end your dining experience.
